Data sources and methodology
This directory separates location discovery, FDA registration evidence, and operator confirmation. They are different facts and are never presented as interchangeable badges.
OpenStreetMap location seed
healthcare=blood_donation when the record also has an explicit positive blood:plasma tag or a narrow plasma operator/name signal. Mobile, private/no-access, obvious non-US, nameless, and coordinate-less records are excluded. Data is © OpenStreetMap contributors under ODbL 1.0.FDA registration roster
The primary roster is the current public FDA Blood Establishment Registration search, filtered to United States, active status, and establishment type “Plasmapheresis Center.” We retain FEI, facility name, city, state, ZIP, status, and the date checked. Reporting-official names, emails, phone numbers, and mailing addresses are deliberately excluded. A registration record is not an endorsement and does not guarantee current hours, donor eligibility, or public donor intake.
Reconciliation, corrections, and freshness
FDA and OpenStreetMap rows are combined only on a unique high-confidence name-and-place match; ambiguous rows remain separate rather than being guessed together. Source refreshes are additive and do not automatically delete a center. Claimed or editorially corrected facility fields win over later source refreshes. Profiles remain out of search indexes until they meet the evidence and uniqueness gate.
